Young People

If you are a young person looking for work experience who attends a Bromley secondary school or college, then please contact the Work Experience Co-ordinator at your school or college for advice about how to find a suitable placement.

The Council has a particular responsibility to promote the welfare of children in the London Borough of Bromley's care and priority for work experience placements within the Borough will be given to them.

Work Experience can give young people valuable life skills and boost their confidence, as well as giving a taste of the world of work.

Bromley Council runs a work experience scheme offering placements each year in a variety of departments across the Council. Placements are available to young people in Year 10 and above who are looking for work experience as part of an organised school scheme. Priority for placements is given to Bromley Children Looked After and young people who live in Bromley and/or attend a Bromley school. Placements are for 1 or 2 weeks duration in term time only.

Placements are allocated on a first come first served basis according to availability. To apply for a placement please complete the application form which can be found in the 'Downloads' section. Please note that the application process for placements during 2018/19 academic year has now closed.  We will be accepting applications for the 2019/20 academic year from September 2019.
