Work Experience with Bromley Council

Ever thought about a placement with the London Borough of Bromley?

Bromley EBP coordinates the Borough's work experience scheme offering placements each year in a variety of departments across the Council.  Placements are available to young people in Years 10, 11 and 12 who are looking for work experience as part of an organised school scheme.  Priority for placements is given to Bromley Children Looked After and young people who live in Bromley and/or attend a Bromley school.  Placements are for 1 or 2 weeks' duration in term time only.  Please note that we are unable to accommodate requests for extended placements.

Placements are allocated on a first come, first served basis according to interest and availability with the deadline for applications closing on 31st March 2022.

We are really hoping that the LBB work experience programme will go ahead for the academic year 2021/22 following the lifting of most Covid-19 restrictions on 19th July 2021 and the gradual return to the workplace as set out by the LBB Chief Executive.  However, we anticipate that there will be limited placement availability across all departments this year.

How do I apply for a placement?

You need to be in Year 10 or above, attend a Bromley secondary school or live in the Borough and looking for a placement as part of an organised school scheme.  All students are required to apply for a placement by completing an application form which can be found in the downloads section.  Your application will then be considered, and a placement allocated according to interest and availability.

The application process for placements with a London Borough of Bromley Department has now closed for this academic year.  The scheme re-opens in September 2022 and the application form will be available in the downloads section.
