Bromley Youth Employment Scheme Jobs Fair

On Friday 8th July, in partnership with Affinity Sutton, BEBP ran a Jobs Fair in Bromley for young people aged 17-24 who are seeking employment. This was the first time we organised this type of event which proved to be an overwhelming success, with more than 70 young people attending throughout the morning.

The event was opened by Doug Patterson, LBB Chief Executive who thanked the business people for attending and offering such great opportunities for young people to get into the world of work. He also reinforced the message that Bromley Council strongly supports initiatives designed to help the Borough’s young people into employment.

The event was supported by over 15 local businesses and organisations including Acorn, Bromley College, Job Centre Plus, Affinity Sutton, Mitie, JTL and Capita Asset Services. Each had their own stand allowing them to chat with young people interested in their sector. The employers present were offering live job opportunities, and many positive leads were secured, with young people registering their interest for a wide variety of roles. The team were pleased to see so many young people at the event engaging with employers.

We will be contacting all partners and young people who attended to find out about the connections made in the coming weeks and to offer support where needed. BEBP would like to thank all the employers that supported the event, in particular the event partner Affinity Sutton, who have donated a Kindlefire to the lucky winner of a prize draw entered by young people who attended.
