Volunteer Week

This year’s national volunteer week runs from 1 – 7 June.  The campaign was established in 1984 by Volunteering England as a time to say thank you for the work of volunteers who support a range of projects across the UK.  Bromley EBP would like to take this opportunity to recognise the invaluable contribution made by volunteers from the local community who help us support young people in Bromley.

Our volunteer Mentors provide a young person with the benefit of their life experience by meeting with them regularly and developing a relationship on a 1:1 basis.  By supporting the Bromley Mentoring Initiative they help the young person increase self-esteem and confidence which helps improve their motivation to learn and develops their personal and social skills.

Our Business Ambassador volunteers are either people currently working or those recently retired who want to give something back to the community.  They come from a range of sectors and volunteer their support a couple of days during the year to help with events for young people designed to improve their employability skills and readiness for work.  The volunteers get involved in helping with CVs, interview techniques as well as passing on valuable information about working within a number of different industries to help with career choices.

If you are interested in volunteering with Bromley EBP, please contact us at:  ebp.admin@bromley.gov.uk and we would be more than happy to tell you more about what we do.
