Employers help young people be work ready

A range of employers representing the construction industry including Armour Group, Bell Group and Conway worked alongside other organisations to provide valuable employability advice to young people from Bromley.  Students from LSEC and Chislehurst School for Girls took their Next Steps into the world of employment by attending an event on Friday 10th November supported by local and national employers from a range of sectors.

This was the first in a series of events funded through the YES project, to help young people who are not intending to go onto HE to understand more about what employers expect of them and how to access the job market when they finish their studies. The teachers/tutors who accompanied the students were very positive about the event and commented:

‘The students benefitted from networking with the employers and gained lots of knowledge through the presentations’ (Teacher, Chislehurst School for Girls)

‘The most important aspect for my students was the chance to build their CV whilst finding out about real job opportunities and gaining in confidence by talking with employers’ (Tutor, LSEC).

Thanks to all our employers, community volunteers and training providers who came along on the 10th November.  BEBP are looking forward to the next event on Friday 8th December for young people from Langley Boys and Kemnal Technology College.
