What is Work-Related Learning?
Work-related learning (WRL) is an umbrella term for planned programmes of activities and qualifications that help young people make an effective transition from school to work. WRL involves learning ‘about work’, ‘through work’ and ‘for work’ and is now a statutory requirement for all students aged 14-19. WRL includes experience in working environments, vocationally-related qualifications and Key Skills. Career planning, economic awareness and personal development are also important elements of work-related learning.
