The Award is run by the Institute for Education Business Excellence and accredits the BEBP for three years for connecting education with the world of work and business for the benefit of schools and young people in Bromley.

 

In just eight months last year they worked with more than 100 businesses from all sectors ranging from construction to finance. During the same period the BEBP team delivered activities or supported more than 3,500 young people.

 

Initiatives include one off inter-active entrepreneur and enterprise sessions in schools as well as long term mentoring, reading and number skills programmes. Staff and volunteers help young people combine hands-on work-based experience with classroom education as well as the traditional short-term work placement format for students. The focus is to support young people to make decisions and help prepare for their future in the work place.

 

Roger Allen, lead AEBE Assessor said: “The Bromley EBP rated highly in all areas. There is a great team ethos among the staff who are all committed to raising the achievement of young people and engaging them in learning through the local community and business.”
