Jobs Fair for Young People

Over 80 young people looking for employment dropped in to an event during the morning of Friday 14th July at the Central Library, Bromley.  The Jobs Fair on 14th July was funded through the Youth Employment Scheme with the aim of connecting local young talent with employers who have live job vacancies to fill.

A range of employers came along including the Army, Bell Group, Brands Hatch Thistle, Clarion Housing, European Springs and Headmasters hairdressers.  All were on hand to talk to the young people to tell them more about their organisation and the opportunities of working for them.  Job Centre Plus was also there to support the young people and had details of plenty of job vacancies in a range of local and national companies.

Cllr. Peter Morgan, who chairs the Bromley Economic Partnership, officially opened the event and talked briefly about recent developments in apprenticeships and how this could be a positive route into employment for many young people.
